The general satisfaction of users with Statistics Iceland and the statistics it publishes was 0.69 (on a scale ranging from 0-1) according to a user satisfaction survey conducted in December 2013. This is a similar outcome as in a user survey in 2009. Users working for research institutions or non-governmental organisations were the happiest when satisfaction with Statistics Iceland was examined by users’ place of work. When examined for specific statistical categories, users of the labour cost index and harmonized index of consumer prices displayed the highest level of satisfaction. Users’ education, comparability of statistics over time and the ease of understanding disseminated statistics were the factors that had the biggest effects on the satisfaction with individual statistical categories. Total number of respondents was 200 with the response rate being 32%.
