NEWS RELEASE NATIONAL ACCOUNTS 10 OCTOBER 2011

Disposable income of the household sector has decreased by 8.2% in 2010 from the previous year. Disposable income per capita has decreased by 7.9 % from 2009 to 2010 and purchasing power per capita by 12.6%. Households’ total income has decreased by 3.6% between 2009 and 2010 and total expenditure (i.e. property expenditure and current transfers paid) has increased by 3.4% in the same time period.


 

There have been some revisions in the data since the last publication. Notably, data for capital gains tax paid by the household sector has been updated for 2008-2009 as more precise information on the same became available from the local governments. In addition, data on operating surplus of owner occupied dwellings has been revised for 2009 due to availability of more accurate figures.
