Continued summer sales led to a 6.6% fall in prices of clothing and footwear (effect on the CPI -0.33%).
Owner occupied housing cost rose by 2.0% (0.32%), the effect of higher market prices of houses was 0.37% and of lower average real mortgage rates -0.05%. Groceries’ prices rose by 0.84% (0.13%). Prices of fuels rose by 1.9% (0.09%)
The CPI in August 2005 is 3.7% higher than in August 2004 while the CPI less housing cost is 0.1% higher than one year ago. The CPI rose by 1.0% over the last three months equivalent to an annual inflation rate of 4.2% (CPI less housing cost: 0.2% inflation).
The credit term index in September 2005 is 243.2 points. The old credit term index is 4,802 points in September 2005.
