The Consumer Price Index (CPI), based on prices in January 2022, is 517.9 points (May 1988=100), 0.50% higher than in the previous month. The CPI less housing cost is 434.8 points, 0.16% higher than in December 2021.
Cost of owner occupied housing (imputed rent) increased by 1.5% (effect on index 0.25%), prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 1.3% (0.18%), prices of electricity, gas and other fuels increased by 3.7% (0.11%) and prices of new car increased by 2.2% (0.11%) from last month.
Winter sales are ongoing and prices of clothing and footwear decreased by 8.0% (effect on the index -0.30%) and prices of furnishing, household equipment etc. decreased by 2.7% (-0.17%).
The CPI is 5.7% higher in January 2022 than in January 2021 and the CPI less housing cost is 3.7% higher than one year ago.
The CPI compiled in the middle of January 2022, 517.9 points, is applicable for indexation purposes in March 2022. The old credit terms index for March 2022 is 10,226 points.
