The Consumer Price Index (CPI) based on prices in July 2023, is 595.8 points (May 1988=100), 0.03% higher than in the previous month. The CPI less housing cost is 492.1 points, 0.20% higher than in June 2023.
Summer sales have been ongoing, and prices of clothing and footwear decreased by 8.7% (effect on the index -0.34%). Cost of owner occupied housing (imputed rent) decreased by 0.7% (effect on index -0.14%) and prices of international flights increased by 13.9% (0.28%).
The CPI is 7.6% higher in July 2023 than in July 2022 and the CPI less housing cost is 7.1% higher than one year ago.
The CPI compiled in the middle of July 2023, 595.8 points, is applicable for indexation purposes in September 2023. The old credit terms index for September 2023 is 11,764 points.
