The CPI based on prices in May is 377.6 points (May 1988=100), 0.94% higher than in the previous month. The CPI less housing cost is 358.8 points, 0.73% higher than in April.
Charges for hot water and sewerage services increased by 10.0% (effect on the index 0.20%) and international airfares rose by 15.5% (0.17%). Cost of regular maintenance of housing increased by 3.7% (0.15%), thereof the effect of a correction in the building cost index was 0.12%. Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 0.8% (0.12%).
The CPI is 3.4% higher in May 2011 than in May 2010 and the CPI less housing cost is 3.1% higher than one year ago. Over the last three months, the CPI has increased by 2.7%, equivalent to an annual inflation rate of 11.2% (10.3% inflation for the CPI less housing cost).
The CPI compiled in the middle of May 2011, 377.6 points, is applicable for indexation purposes in July 2011. The old credit terms index for July 2011 is 7,456 points.
