The Consumer Price Index (CPI) based on prices in May 2023, is 590.6 points (May 1988=100), 0.39% higher than in the previous month. The CPI less housing cost is 487.8 points, 0.14% higher than in April 2023.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 0.8% (effect on index 0.12%). Cost of owner-occupied housing (imputed rent) increased by 1.3% (0.25%) while prices of international flights decreased by 7.0% (-0.15%).
The CPI is 9.5% higher in May 2023 than in May 2022 and the CPI less housing cost is 8.4% higher than one year ago.
The CPI compiled in the middle of May 2023, 590.6 points, is applicable for indexation purposes in July 2023. The old credit terms index for July 2023 is 11,661 points.
