NEWS RELEASE PRICES 27 OCTOBER 2022

The Consumer Price Index (CPI), based on prices in October 2022, is 559.3 points (May 1988=100), 0.67% higher than in the previous month. The CPI less housing cost is 463.0 points, 0.65% higher than in September 2022.

Price of food increased by 1.6% (effect on index 0.22%), of which the price of lamb meat increased by 16.2% (0.09%). Cost of owner-occupied housing (imputed rent) increased by 0.8% (0.16%).

The CPI is 9.4% higher in October 2022 than in October 2021 and the CPI less housing cost is 7.2% higher than one year ago.

The CPI compiled in the middle of October 2022, 559.3 points, is applicable for indexation purposes in December 2022. The old credit terms index for December 2022 is 11,043 points.
