The Consumer Price Index (CPI) based on prices in September 2024, is 632.3 points (May 1988=100), 0.24% lower than in the previous month. The CPI less housing cost is 509.3 points, 0.55% lower than in August 2024.
Clothing and footwear increased by 5.0% (effect on index 0.18%) and cost of owner occupied housing (imputed rent) increased by 0.7% (0.14%). Prices of international flights decreased by 16.5% (-0.37%) and prices in canteens decreased by 35.9% (-0.26%). The decrease of prices in canteens is mostly due to meals in primary schools now being free of charge.
The CPI is 5.4% higher in September 2024 than in September 2023 and the CPI less housing cost is 2.8% higher than one year ago.
The CPI compiled in the middle of September 2024, 632.3 points, is applicable for indexation purposes in November 2024.
