NEWS RELEASE PRICES 23 JULY 2018

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) based on prices in July 2018 is 454.8 points (May 1988=100), 0.04% higher than in the previous month. The CPI less housing cost is 389.1 points, 0.26% lower than in June 2018.

Summer sales are widely in action causing a decrease in prices of clothing and footwear by 11.3% (effect on the index -0.41 %). Cost of owner occupied housing (imputed rent), rose by 1.0% (effect on the index 0.22%). International airfares rose by 23.0% (0.31%).

The CPI is 2.7% higher in July 2018 than in July 2017 while the CPI less housing cost is 1.4% higher than one year ago.

The CPI compiled in the middle of July 2018, 454.8 points, is applicable for indexation purposes in September 2018. The old credit terms index for September 2018 is 8,980 points.
