A new issue in the statistical series, Hagtíðindi, has been released containing an overview of the HICP in year 2004.
The inflation in the European Economic Area, measured with the Harmonised Indices of Consumer Prices (HICP), was on average 2.0% in the years 2003 and 2004. The inflation in Iceland during the same time period was 2.3%, rising from 1.4% in 2003.
The HICP is rebased in January each year and the tables show the development of the HICP in the period January 2004-2005.
