The HICP average for member countries of the European Economic Area (EU-countries, Iceland and Norway) was 103.2 points (2005=100) in December, 0.4% higher than in November. At the same time, the HICP for Iceland was 107.1 points, unchanged from the previous month.
The 12-month rate of change of the HICP was 2.1% for the EEA, 1.9% for the Euro-zone and 5.9% for Iceland.
The highest inflation rates in the EEA in this twelve month period were 6.8% in Latvia and 6.6% in Hungary. The lowest inflation rates were 0.8% in Malta and 1.2% in Finland.
