The HICP average for member countries of the European Economic Area (EU-countries, Iceland and Norway) was 101.4 points (2005=100) in March, 0.5% higher than in February. At the same time, the HICP for Iceland was 101.9 points, 1.1% higher than in the previous month.
The 12-month rate of change of the HICP was 2.1% for the EEA, 2.2% for the Euro-zone and 2.0% for Iceland.
The highest inflation rates in the EEA in this twelve month period were 6.6% in Latvia, 4.3% in the Slovak Republic and 4.0% in Estonia. The lowest inflation rates were 0.9% in Poland, 1.2% in Finland and 1.3% in Austria.
