The producer price index (PPI) in December 2007 was 119.5 points (4. quarter 2005 = 100), 2.2% higher than in the previous month. The PPI for fish products was 131.2 points which is 2.0% higher than in November (effect on the index 0.7%), and the PPI for power intensive industry products was 132.4 points, 4.6% higher (1.0%). The PPI for food products was 0.1% higher than in November (0.0%) while the PPI for other manufactured products increased 1.7% (0.5%).
The PPI for domestically sold products was 0.5% higher than in the previous month
(0.2%) while the index for exported products increased 3.2% (2.0%).
From December 2006, the PPI has decreased 4.2%, the PPI for fish products has increased 0.7% and the PPI for power intensive industry products has fallen 12.6%. The PPI for food products rose 3.6% in the same period.
