The producer price index (PPI) increased by 0.8% between December 2016 and January 2017. Prices for power intensive industry products increased by 1.5% (Effect on the index 0.5%) while prices for other industry decreased by 2.5% (-0.5%). Prices of food decreased by 0.3% (-0.1%) and prices of marine products increased by 2.9% (0.9%).
Compared with January 2016, the PPI has decreased by 5.3%. Thereof prices of marine products have decreased by 8.0% and other industry decreased by 12.2%. When taken into consideration if the products are exported or sold domestically, exported products have decreased in price by 6.0% over one year, but products sold domestically have decreased by 3.5%.
