The producer price index (PPI) in March 2007 is 121.9 points, unchanged from the previous month. The PPI for fish products is 125.8 points, 0.3% lower than in February (effect on the index -0.1%), and the PPI for power intensive industry products is 152.4 points, 0.4% (0.1%) higher than in the previous month. The PPI for food products decreased by 0.4% (-0.1%) from January while the PPI for other manufactured products is 0.5% (0.1%) higher than in the previous month. It should be pointed out that value added taxes and excise taxes are not included in the price concept.
The PPI for domestically sold products is 0.6% (0.2%) higher than in the previous month while the index for exported products declined 0.3% (0.2%) from February.
The PPI is 9.5% higher than in March 2006. Over the last twelve months the PPI for fish products has increased by 14.4%, the PPI for power intensive industry products by 12.2% and the PPI for food products by 5.8%.
