The producer price index (PPI) in May 2007 is 118.3 points, 2.4% lower than in the previous month. The PPI for fish products is 121.0 points, 4.2% lower than in April (effect on the index -1.6%), and the PPI for power intensive industry products is 145.2 points, 1.2% lower than in the previous month (-0.2%). The PPI for food products remained unchanged from April while the PPI for other manufactured products declined 2.4% from the previous month (-0.6%). At the same time the price of foreign currencies fell by 3.4%.
The PPI for domestically sold products was 0.5% lower than in the previous month (-0.2%) while the index for exported products declined 3.5% from April (-2.2%).
From May 2006, the PPI has risen by 1.0%. Over the last twelve months the PPI for fish products has risen by 2.0% and the PPI for food products by 2.4% but the PPI for power intensive industry products has declined 3.2%.
