The producer price index (PPI) in November 2009 was 189.3 points (4. quarter 2005 = 100), 1.2% higher than in the previous month. The PPI for fish products was 231.2 points which is 0.9% higher than in October 2009 (effect on the index 0.3%) and the PPI for power intensive industry products was 209.3 points, 2.0% higher (0.7%). The PPI for food products was 0.2% higher than in October and the PPI for other manufactured products rose by 1.0% (0.2%).
The PPI for domestically sold products was 0.7% higher (0.2%) than in the previous month while the index for exported products increased by 1.4% (1.0%).
Compared to November 2008 the PPI has decreased by 4.0%. The PPI for fish products declined by 6.9% and the PPI for power intensive industry products has decreased by 17.8%. In the same period the PPI for food products rose by 5.0%.

In evaluating the price changes accounted for here, it may be taken into consideration that the trade-weighted average price of foreign exchange in November 2009 was 0.6% higher than in the preceding month whereas it was 3.9% higher than in November 2008.
