The producer price index (PPI) increased by 2.8% between August and September 2017. Prices of marine products increased by 1.7% (effect on the index 0.5%), prices of power intensive industry products increased by 6.2% (1.9%), prices for other industry increased by 2.4% (0.5%) but food prices decreased by 0.4% (-0.1%).
Compared with September 2016, the PPI has decreased by 1.4%. Thereof prices of marine products have decreased by 0.1% and other industry decreased by 18.3%. Prices of power intensive industry products has increased by 12.0% but prices of food decreased by 2.8% in the same period. When taken into consideration if the products are exported or sold domestically, exported products have increased in price by 2.7% in one year, but products sold domestically have decreased by 8.8%.
