The producer price index (PPI) in January 2014 was 195.5 points (4. quarter 2005 = 100), 1.6% lower than in the previous month. The PPI for fish products was 242.1 points which is 3.0% lower than in December 2013 (effect on the index -1.1%) and the PPI for power intensive industry products was 189.1 points, 0.6% lower (-0.2%). The PPI for food products increased by 0.4% (0.1%) and the PPI for other manufactured products decreased by 2.5% (-0.4%).
The PPI for domestically sold products was 0.5% (-0.1%) lower than in the previous month while the index for exported products decreased by 2.0% (-1.5%).
Compared to January 2013 the PPI has decreased by 12.3%. The PPI for fish products and the PPI for power intensive industry decreased by 10.8% and 23.0% respectively. In the same period the PPI for food products rose by 3.3%.
