The producer price index (PPI) in May 2014 was 197.9 points (4. quarter 2005 = 100), 1.7% higher than in the previous month. The PPI for fish products was 250.6 points which is 0.5% higher than in April 2014 (effect on the index 0.1%) and the PPI for power intensive industry products was 192.0 points, 7.3% higher (2.4%). The PPI for food products was unchanged between months and the PPI for other manufactured products decreased by 5.1% (-0.8%).
The PPI for domestically sold products was 1.9% (-0.5%) lower than in the previous month and the index for exported products increased by 2.9% (2.2%).
Compared to May 2013 the PPI has decreased by 2.2%. %. In the same period the PPI for fish products rose by 1.6% while the PPI for power intensive industry decreased by 8.3%. The PPI for food products rose by 1.7% from the previous year.
