The yearly average operational cost per student in primary schools in 2017 was ISK 1,819,804 and the increase in the weighted average price level from 2017 until October 2018 is estimated at 3.8%.
The estimated yearly operational cost per student in primary schools, run by local government is thus ISK 1,888,623 in October 2018.
Statistics Iceland calculates the yearly average operational cost per student in all primary schools that are run by local governments, according to paragraph 2 and 3, Article 3 Regulation no 1270/2016, on the accreditation of primary schools and the minimum contribution from local governments to such schools.
