Statistics Iceland has estimated the average operational cost per student in all primary schools that are run by local governments, according to paragraph 2. and 3., Article 3 Regulation no. 1270/2016 on the accreditation of primary schools and the minimum contribution from local governments to such schools.
The average operational cost per student in primary schools in 2015 was ISK 1,651,002 and the increase in the weighted average price level from 2015 until February 2017 is estimated at around 5.9%.
The estimated yearly operational cost per student in primary schools that are run by local government is thus ISK 1,749,062 in February 2017.
