In the 1st quarter of 2016, the financial balance of the general government (i.e. the central government, the social security funds and the local governments) amounted to 369.7 billion ISK deficit or 67.6% of quarterly GDP and 60.3% of general government total revenue. Included in 1st quarter 2016 is revenue of 384.3 billion ISK due to stability contribution. In the 1st quarter of 2015 the deficit was 10.2 billion ISK.
