In the 2nd quarter of 2015, the financial balance of the general government (i.e. the central government, the social security funds and the local governments) amounted to a 10.3 billion ISK deficit or 1.9% of quarterly GDP and 4.8% of general government total revenue. Last year, the deficit was 3.1 billion ISK in the 2nd quarter or 0.7% of GDP in that quarter. In the first half of the year, the deficit amounted to 17.6 billion ISK, 4.0% of total revenue.
