Statistic Iceland has now released in a new issue of Statistical Series, the results from the continuous household budget survey conducted in 2000-2002. The results are broken down by type of household and residence and the totals are compared with the HBS-1995 results. Furthermore, the issue contains various tables about the households, e.g. their housing, ownership of equipment, subscriptions e.t.c.
The sample size in the survey was 3,500 households, 1,907 households participated implying a response rate close to 55%.
According to the survey the average consumption expenditure is almost 3.5 millions ISK a year and the average household counts 2.68 individuals.
