Consumption of alcoholic beverages based on sales figures in Iceland was 2,407 thousand litres of pure alcohol in 2024 compared with 2,388 thousand litres in 2023. Measured in pure alcohol per capita 15 years and older the consumption was 7.6 litres, which was a 1.6% decrease from 2023 when the consumption was 7.7 litres. The greatest year-on-year decrease was in consumption of beer, or 3%.
