A total of 4,830 persons with disabilities received services from 15 municipal service areas in 2014, an increase of 47 (1.0%) from the year before. Of these were 1,627 children 17 years old or younger (33.7%), more males than females or 60%, but boys were a majority of 0–17 years old or nearly 72%. In the age group 18–39 years males were little more than 65%. On the other hand in the age group 67 years and older females were 67%. People receiving services were 1.5% of the population, 2.0% of all children and 0.9% of the population 67 years or older.
In December 2014 nearly 18% individuals with disabilities lived in collective living quarters, nearly 17% in rented dwellings owned by municipalities or non-profit organizations and nearly 49% lived with parents or relatives.
