NEWS RELEASE TOURISM 16 APRIL 2019

The news release on overnight stays in February 2019, published 1 April 2019, has been amended due to an error in the estimation of the total number of overnight stays. Web tables have been updated accordingly. This does not affect the numbers for hotels, but has an effect on the number of overnight stays in other types of accommodation (youth hostels, campsites, etc.).

Overnight stays in registered accommodation in February 2019 were 519,000, compared with 526,000 in February last year. Overnight stays in hotels and guesthouses were 418,000 and overnight stays in apartments, youth hostels, campsites etc. were 101,000.

There was a 1.4% decrease in the number of registered overnight stays in February between years, thereof a 1.6% decrease for hotels and guesthouses while overnight stays in other types of accommodation were approximately the same. Number of overnight stays in private accommodation through Airbnb and similar websites is postponed and will be published with the number of overnight stays in March, due at the end of April.
