Overnight stays increased by 3% compared to February 2010
In February 2011, overnight stays in hotels were 80,400 compared to 77,800 in February 2010. Overnight stays increased in all regions except in the North and in the West and the Westfjords.

Nights spent by foreign tourists accounted for 76% of total number of overnight stays in February and increased by 5% compared to February 2010. At the same time there was a decrease in overnight stays of Icelanders by 2% compared to the same period last year.

The data above only show overnight stays in hotels that are operating for the whole year. Guesthouses and summer hotels are not included in this category.
