Wages increased by 0.6% from previous quarter
Wages increased by 0.6% on average from previous quarter according to the quarterly wage index in 3rd quarter 2012. Wages increased by 5.7% on average from previous year, 5.8% in the private sector and 5.3% in the public sector.
Wages in the private sector by economic activity and occupational group
From the previous quarter, wages increased by 1.3% in the economic activity of Financial intermediation. During the same period wages in Manufacturing increased by 0.2%. The annual change of wage index ranged from 4.0% in Construction to 9.3% in the economic activity of Financial intermediation.
Wages for Managers increased by 1.1% from previous quarter, while wages for Craft Workers and General Workers increased by 0.4%. Annual change ranged from 4.3% for General Workers to 7.3% for Professionals.
Revision of the quarterly Wage Index in 1st and 2nd quarter 2012 by occupation
The wage indices in the private sector by occupational group in 1st and 2nd quarter 2012 have been revised due to revision in occupational weights, but the value of total wage index remains unchanged. The press release in 1st and 2nd quarter and related statistics have been revised accordingly.
