Wages increased 0.5% from previous quarter
Wages increased by 0.5% on average between the 4th and 1st quarter of 2011 according to the quarterly wage index. During the same period wages in the private sector increased by 0.6% and by 0.2% in the public sector. Wages increased by 4.5% from previous year, 5.6% in the private sector and 1.9% in the public sector.
Wages in the private sector by occupational group and economic activity
Wages for Professionals increased by 1.5% from previous quarter, while wages for Craft workers and Service workers increased by 0.1%. Annual change ranged from 4.2% for Craft workers to 7.6 % for Professionals.
From the previous quarter, wages increased by 1.5% in the economic activity of Financial intermediation. During the same period wages in Construction increased by 0.3%. The annual change of wage index ranged from 2.5% in Construction to 8.5% in the economic activity of Financial intermediation.
