The total catch of Icelandic fishing vessels in 2005 was 1,669 thousand tonnes which is 59 thousand tonnes less than in 2004. The value of the catch was similar to former year or around 68 billions ISK. Whereas the eastern part of the country processed the largest proportion of the catch, mainly pelagic fish, the capital area processed catch with more value.
