The number of persons in the labour force in February 2012 was 173,300 which corresponds to an activity rate of 77.4%. The number of employed persons was 160,700 and unemployed persons were 12,600. The employment rate was 71.8% and the unemployment rate was 7.3%. The number of unemployed has decreased by 1,100 since February 2011. The number of unemployed was 13,700 in February 2011 and employed persons were 160,600.
