It should be noted that the distributions and mean values of proportions of migrants by age-groups, during 1986-2014 or for the shorter period ending in 2009, make sense only if the values of these proportions, for different years, are generated by the same underlying process (for each age-group). Then one could also use the distribution of these values for statistical testing and inference.
