The CPI in January 2008 rose by 0.18% from the preceding month (0.16% deflation less housing cost). Over the last 12 months the CPI rose by 5.8% (CPI less housing cost rose by 2.3%) while the change over the last 3 months is equivalent to an annual inflation of 6.2% (3.8% inflation less housing cost). The average of the CPI in 2007 was 5.0% higher than the 2006 year´s average.
