The CPI in January 2009 rose by 0.57% from the preceding month (0.43% less housing cost). Over the last 12 months the CPI rose by 18.6% (CPI less housing cost rose by 21.4%) while the change over the last 3 months is equivalent to an annual inflation of 16.4% (17.1% inflation less housing cost). The average of the CPI in 2008 was 12.4% higher than the 2007 year‘s average. Similar rise was 5.0% in 2007. The CPI less housing cost was on average 12.2% higher in 2008 than in 2007. Similar rise was 2.5% in 2007.
