The use of computers and the Internet is very widespread in Iceland. In 2005, 88% of the population aged 16?74 years used computers and 86% used the Internet. As in previous years, the Internet is mainly used for information search and communication. In 2005, 28% of individuals 16?74 years of age had ordered goods or services over the Internet over a period of three months prior to the survey.
